Svetlana Postoenko

Svetlana Postoenko graduated from Novosibirsk Ballet School. She has served as a ballet dancer at the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater for more than 20 years. Svetlana performed on tour a lot in Russia and abroad. There are some solo parts in her repertoire: Little Red Riding Hood in 'Sleeping Beauty', Dance of the Little Swans in 'Swan Lake', etc. Having retired from the ballet, she left for Moscow to make a new start and try hand in art photography. And the Theater became a favorite subject. Thus, Svetlana returns to the Ballet and takes photos of contemporary dancers at the Bolshoi Theater, the Mariinsky Theater, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre, the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater. Knowing the ballet and dance technique from inside, she guesses the sequence and highlights in the performance. And so she manages to get accurate and beautiful photos, which then become signature for the greatest artists: Vyacheslav Polunin, Diana Vishneva, Svetlana Zakharova, Ivan Vasiliev, etc. There are famous advertising portraits of Polunin, posters of 'Swan Lake' and 'Apollo' at the Bolshoi Theater, posters for Kremlin Gala and Golden Mask and etc. in her portfolio.

Being a creative thinker and a keen photographer, Svetlana took a great interest in painting - and it was long before she started working in the genre of photography. And she is very interested in artists' biographies, history.
